College student Jenny (Laurie Walters) meets aspiring journalist John (Joe Spano), who convinces her to go on a picnic with him. While lost in the countryside, the pair stumble upon a sprawling, abandoned, rickety estate in the middle of the woods that years ago had been the Soda Spring Health Spa. After doing some exploring, this one-time spa appears deserted until Jenny runs into Mrs. Agnes Abercrombie, who claims to be living on the property. Over a casual cup of tea, Agnes tells the pair about the place's past. Jenny feels strangely dizzy and is sure that she saw a strange apparition in a wedding dress float by in the hall. She gets up to explore and the ghost leads her into to an odd room containing a huge, black circle drawn on the floor. Before she can question what is happening, John informs her that they are leaving.

After a week, John tells Jenny to meet him back at the spa so that he can do a feature story for the newspaper. Jenny reluctantly agrees and finds herself back at the abandoned oasis again. Arriving early, she is shocked to find no sign of the old woman at all. But this time, the area truly seems deserted. Mrs. Abercrombie's home is completely empty - no furniture inside or flowers on the outside. Again hearing a spectral voice, Jenny runs into a hunter who informs her of the hotel's legacy. The haunted, sinister, decrepit spa has long been abandoned, ever since a sinister cannibalistic episode forced it to close down 50 years ago. It seems that a cook went insane and killed a young bride, cutting her up and cooking her for the guests.

When John finally shows up, the old woman and her clean, orderly living quarters are suddenly back, and Jenny starts to realize that something evil and supernatural is afoot. After Jenny takes ill during dinner, the old lady convinces them to spend the night. Meanwhile, two henchmen wander around the property with murder on their minds and axes in their hands.

Little do the two of them know that Mrs. Abercrombie is a black witch who wants to use Jenny as a Satanic blood sacrifice to the Devil at the hour of Midnight.
